Problem merely by Chappy Cat: When I hit the camera button on my phone, it says “Unable to start camera.”?

I have an HTC 4g lte and my camera has been acting up. Sometimes when I’m about to take a photo, it freezes and the picture isn’t taken but it’s still on the screen. Right now I just tried going to the camera to see if it was acting better and now it says “Unable to start camera”

Please, someone tell me why and/or how I could fix this? I really don’t want problems with my phone

Thanks.

Sorry, I meant to put HTC EVO 4g lte, if that helps.

I’ll try those things asap.

re-boot the phone… work now???

if not… you may have camera app or software issues…. get a free camera app on Playstore. I suggest Camera FX ZOOM… The best!!!…. If it works, then you know your stock camera app has issues…

if it gives you the same errors as the stock app, then you now its a software issue…. do a factory reset in settings>privacy> factory reset…. all data on the phone will be wiped… sd card will not be touched… after reset, work now??

if not… get a free warranty replacement

Try these steps first before losing hope:

#1 Turn off your phone, remove the battery (if it’s removable), then turn it back on, after everyhing loads, try the camera again.

#2 If #1 didn’t work, you should try a factory reset. (as you didn’t mention your phone model, just HTC 4G, you need to google how to factory reset that phone. REMEMBER TO BACK UP YOUR DATA!)

If the 2 below didn’t work, your camera may be damaged…

(I’ll also try to download any other camera app… just to test your camera hardware)

Good Luck!
