They consider ANY camera with interchangeable lenses as “professional”.

No, professionals use specific dSLR cameras with interchangeable lenses, but it is to difficult training security to id a Nikon D3 vs and entry level Nikon D3200, so they just consider ALL dSLR cameras “professional” for the purposes of screening cameras coming into the events.

It’s whatever the security staff thinks is too much camera to allow. The L120 is weak enough in its low light abilities that there is little chance you will diminish their revenue with pirated stills and video. Nevertheless, it is bulky and DSLR-like in appearance, so they might say no anyway. Given that you are unlikely to get good results anyway, maybe you should just leave it home and enjoy the show.

In many cases, that would be a D-SLR. The L120 is a bottom end bridge camera at best.

Is the concert indoors ? It will be hard to get decent photos.

Now the problem is, will that $ 8 an hour security guard know a cheap camera from a professional one ?

Have any idea much better?
