You can find a decent digital camera with 10mp and 5X optical zoom anywhere from $ 150-$ 299. It depends on where you look, and whether or not you’re a brand snob. I personally would go with Nikon, Sony, or Canon, and all of these are priced within that range. Try amazon.com and search for a Sony Cybershot, or a Nikon Coolpix… they have some really good deals there. I hope this helps.

Welly I just got a pretty god one (Olympus FE-20) on special for $ 250. So yea just do plenty of reseach and compare prices. But I wouldn’t pay over $ 450.

There’s a lot of cameras out there from roughly $ 150 to $ 300 and main difference would be how much optical zoom do you want. You would prob want an image stabilizer, and manual controls. If you want a subcompact all auto with very good image quality, look no further than the Canon SD1100 IS for $ 149+ shipping on line.
When you write up to Nikon S210…well that’s just an average camera which runs about $ 120-+shipping on line.

Prices of pretty much any consumer electronic products including digital cameras are consistently changing (getting cheaper) fast as new models keep popping up almost everyday…. Plus it depends on where you buy it from. Some shops give better discounts than the others. You also should consider whether you want professional one (i.e. SLR digital camera) or “point-and-shoot” type of compact camera as they both can be fairly cheap depending on where you buy from. Having said that, I have three compact digital cameras from different brands ranging $ 250 to $ 400 and they all are performing well as far as I know. My personal recommendation is Panasonic Lumix series.
