VGA is 640X480 resolution. This is actually more than you need for Myspace and Facebook.

Basically every standard flickr image is in VGA resolution, and this is – resolution-wise – more than enough for facebook.

The problem with “VGA” cameras in cell phones is their missing autofocus.

These standard lenses are focused for infinity – and the nearer the subject to the phone, the more blurry it’ll become. You surely don’t want to end up with sharp background but fuzzy face features…

Thus, if you want to have some sharp portrait images, aim for a camera with autofocus (independent from their resolution).

As of this writing, this camera does not have a public entry in the National Air & Space Museum’s Collections Database. The caption has property tags for three ID codes, A20080088000, A20080092000, and A20080116000, but as of this writing (June 2011) none of those links seems to work.

The caption reads as follows:

Space Shuttle

Hasselblad cameras, staple equipment on U.S. space flights for nearly 50 years, offer NASA high-quality images and the latest in photographic technology. This electronic model imprinted the date and time of each image on the film so it could be matched to the computer-controlled location of the Shuttle at any point in time. This took the guesswork out of determining the spot on Earth in each photograph. The attached 250mm Zeiss telephoto lens gave astronauts closer and sharper images of Earth than ever before.

Transferred from NASA.
